You can walk through history, stepping on the skulls of humans beings slain in the name of honor for the past five thousand years, and your feet will never touch the ground.
Honor will defend itself; the only question is how. Compared with all the other atrocious ways of defending group honor that humans have perpetrated on one another since time began, political correctness is positively benign.
All in all, I'll take political correctness. I think it's the civilized way to go.
I'm sure, at the moment, that Phil Robertson doesn't agree with me. But let him consider; he could be Salman Rushdie. I think old Phil would take a PC beating over a fatwa eight days a week.
But the whole world hasn't yet bought into the political correctness method of conflict resolution. I would strongly urge Mr. Robertson not to burn a Koran.
