The reasons for which the amendment was passed are also in evidence.

You cannot lawfully expunge part of the Constitution. The Original 13th Amendment was never rescinded.  It is therefore still in force.  This leads to the interesting question of what to do with the present Congress, which is almost entirely composed of attorneys who are members of the BAR and therefore are not citizens of the United States.  That is a question to be taken up in short order, but not right now. )

To continue:  The time span in which this took place was short, spanning the confusion and violence of the Civil War.

It therefore follows that the original 13th Amendment was expunged by persons unknown for reasons they did not make public. No record of this event is now known except books then in existence and in still existing records that are now available.

Let us not leap to conclusions.  Instead we will take baby steps.

Who was responsible for this? Who benefited? What were their motives?

What changed because the Original 13th Amendment disappeared?

How many attorneys admitted to the BAR were elected to office in the several decades that followed? How many before the Original 13th was expunged?

These are the facts and questions to be considered. Know the truth and it will set you free.
