But are there miracle plagues to help us out? Miracle pissing contest magic? Miracle whatevers that we can tap to frame a story?
Let's take a look back to the Pharaoh days and assume that God did not come down and throw frogs in the air or blood in the river. Let's assume that the sh*t was already down, the art was in re-framing what was already there as something that was caused by something the Oligarch of the day was doing. Hey Jerry Falwell and creepo bogus preachers of today do it all the time. "It was gays that caused the flood in New Orleans," they claim. Whatever.
We have plagues---
-cancers that didn't hardly ever appear before recent times.
-blighted rivers -- consider the one in West Virginia just recently, though there are too many to count
-massive die-outs of huge chunks of the bio-system
-afflictions of bizarre, horrible bugs, like Ebola, Marburg, avian flu...
-withered crops-- oops-- make that monsantoized GMO crops from hell
-heart disease and clogged arteries
-neurodevelopmental disorders afflicting first born, second born, all the born, with rates of autism, asbergers, ADHD, ODD, OCD, bipolar disorder
- a populace where a massive percentage are addicted to drugs-- I'm talking about the prescription kinds--
But we haven't framed these plagues as being caused by the oligarchs, which they are. Maybe that's what we need to do, take a biblical approach to freeing ourselves from the oligarchs.
It wouldn't hurt for all of us to remember the slaves and the oligarchs, to remember that even if we free ourselves from the oligarchs, we ourselves don't know how to live in a land of milk and honey and even if we shut down the broken toxic system that is killing and enslaving us, it will take generations living in a veritable desert-- probably a desert without technology-- before a new generation is ready to enjoy a new world, a heaven on earth.
