Virginia Woodward - is the current Executive Director of Boards and Commissions for Kentucky Governor, Steven Beshear. Ms. Woodward ran for the Kentucky Senate in 1994 and lost by 45 votes. She ran again in 2004 and lost a close race to a candidate who was proven (through a court challenge) to be ineligible due to residing out of state. Despite her disappointing political defeats, Virginia Woodward has become a strong advocate for women’s issues and electing female candidates. She is the former executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Women, immediate past president of the Kentucky Women’s Political Caucus and current president of the Louisville Metro Women’s Network.
