Subject: Re: Embed with the best!
Thank you LTC Dill and LT Ostrin so much for your kind offers for an
embed. And Lt. King has already contacted me but it's too late and I
have to go back home. One more night in the Starbucks is a lot to ask
for God and country! And the hotels here are $200-$300 a night. And
five days without sleep seems to me to just have sharpened my mind but I
do notice that others seem to be having trouble sorting out my grammar
of late.
I'm sorry I missed the ceremony there but am not doing to badly
myself -- the hot chocolate at the Kuwait airport Starbucks is a nice
consolation prize -- although it is certainly not up to the quality
level of the 1/7's chai! And boy you shoulda seen me go toe-to-toe with some Code Pink over-zealous type outside the Marine recruiting center here in Berkeley when I got back from my last embed. I stood up for the Marines.
Also last night I met an Army higher-up who was visiting my
home-away-from home, the Kuwait airport, and he said that he really
believed in working with communications with Iraqis from the ground up when trying to find solutions to Iraq's problems. He reminded me of you, LTC Dill. I told him all about Ambar too.
point is laughable and definitely doesn't include more airfare to
Kuwait. But thanks for coming to my rescue anyway.
PS: Here's a funny story -- the International Islamic Charitable
Organization has its world headquarters in Kuwait City and they have
taken me under their wing. But I told them to save their money for the
staving orphans in Africa and living at Starbucks wasn't really all that
bad....
Exhibit 27: While at the Starbucks, I also got the following e-mail from my daughter:
"Mommie, I'll embed you!"

Exhibit 29: On February 21, 2008, I requested a refund of my expenses from the DoD and/or information regarding where I could file a request for said reimbursement. I have not as yet heard back from Mr. Boyce regarding this matter:
Dear Mr. Boyce:
My expenses to date with relation to my unsatisfactory interaction with MNFI currently total $1,780.00. I would like to request a reimbursement for these expenses. Please instruct me as to where I can file said request in order to get these funds reimbursed or, failing that, where I can file a petition to receive permission to sue the government.
I will be expecting to hear from you within the next five days. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
Very truly yours,
Jane Stillwater
