Subject: RE: Stillwater Embed Request: "Mr. Boyce, I'm stranded at the
Kuwait Starbucks!!!!!" (UNCLASSIFIED)
Thank you for your prompt reply. The internet connection here is
weak at the best. Bear with me please.
If the military is willing to front me a night at the Sheraton until
we get this matter sorted out, that would be okay with me. But Ali is
cheaper. And embedding me is cheaper still -- considering how much free
publicity you have gotten from me in the past and will, hopefully, in
the future.
And no, I did not get your call. And yes, I do not understand --
and neither do my various editors -- why I am not being re-embedded.
Please get back to me with a plausable reason. Readership? No. Battle
zone? No.
for your help.
Exhibit 24: Mr. Boyce then kindly advised me to go get a room at the Kuwait Sheraton, apparently at my own expense. However, since the average hotel room in Kuwait costs approximately $350 a night, the Starbucks was more in line with my budget so I stayed there:

Ma'am, I appreciate your situation. It's just that no unit has
agreed to adopt you for your desired visit to Iraq. I left that message
at your house phone, but you were clearly traveling. I definitely
didn't recommend proceeding on without me contacting you first, Ma'am.
Lost luggage normally is located in 24 hours, so I'd wait for it
to catch up with you. Meanwhile, please be safe, work with the
airlines on your situation with the lost luggage and try to get a room ...
It must be midnight there. Am told there's a Kuwait City Sheraton next
to the Starbucks there.
Very respectfully,

I have contacted the RCT-5 PAO and asked him to try and help you
embed with 1/7 again. I don't know how the process works, but if you
can contact him or through the CPIC this may help speed the process.
The RCT PAO's name is 1stLt Lawton King, his email is
joseph.king@....
.
Please let myself of LtCol Dill know what we can do to help you out.
