In a nutshell, he came on strong again, in South Carolina no less! I sat there in a state of shock, realizing that right there on FOX news, I was seeing the lone voice of reason. A real conservative voice actually engaging the debate, pulling no punches. Not only did Ron Paul get after it, he got it done and with style!

IMHO, Paul represents what I think will evolve into a GOP schizm. Essentially, we've got real conservatives, who are likely reaching their breaking point with the GOP, and the neo-conservatives currently dominating the party as a whole. Something has got to give. Based on the various polls and surveys, that something is gonna start with Ron Paul.

Take a look at these:

Paul dominates Debate in every catagory that matters (From MSNBC):

Ron Paul not only stands out, but stands way out by a significant margin.

Ron Paul delivers a solid spanking to the GOP base, right on FOX news:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/05/15/gop-debate-ii-fox-goes-after-ron-paul/

FOX: "Are you running for the nomination of the wrong party?"

Ron Paul: "Y-You have to realize, the base of the Republican Party shrunk last year, because of the war issue, so that represents less people."

That's priceless, and it gets better folks!

Normally, I would not recommend watching the GOP debate. This one, however, is a must see! By himself, Ron Paul highlights all that is wrong and corrupt with the GOP today. His answers are reasoned expressions that resonate with a lot of Americans, no matter their core ideology. The others appear stiff, rehearsed and generally uninspiring. Of course, that is exactly what they are intended to be, so as to not disturb the status quo.

Enjoy the entire show here: (share it with your conservative friends)

Edit: Seems FOX moved the debates. I found another copy here:

I would end this article with an observation: Ron Paul has a pair as big and brassy as Stephen Colbert does. Where is Stephen Colbert when we need him. Go on over to the Colbert Nation [ http://www.colbertnation.com/ ] and start talking up Ron Paul. Stephen really needs to get him on the show.
