Paranoid-A Rock and Roll Epistle
By Richard Girard
"Finished with my woman
'Cause she couldn't help me with my mind,
People think I'm insane
Because I am frowning all the time."
Black Sabbath, 1971
The election is coming, and I am definitely feeling the Republican cross-hairs on an awful lot of my rights and expectations of what it means to be an American citizen, both in general sense for all of us, and in a specific sense for myself.
The recent Presidential and Vice Presidential debates showed the GOP's adherence to the Big Lie at all costs in all of its dark, infernal glory. It has became obvious, from Romney and Ryan's evasions concerning the specifics of the Ryan-Romney economic plan, and every other aspect of those debates, that what they are planning is so horrendous, so utterly destructive to the economic well-being of most Americans, that they do not dare give any specifics before the election.
The Ryan-Romney economic plan can be summed up simply: The GOP's plutocratic masters (including the Koch Brothers), via the machinations of Ryan and Romney (and I use that order quite intentionally, since it will be Congressman Ryan's proposed budget that President Romney's Administration will follow), are going to continue to make use of the tax code to destroy America's middle class economically, while they finish destroying what is left of the safety net that helps to maintain middle class viability in times of economic troubles.
The economic viability of the middle class is not the only target of the odious oligarchic faction that includes the Koch Brothers in this election, but it is the most obvious. The American oligarchs hatred of the middle class is limitless, just as their spiritual predecessors was in the days of Athens' democracy and Rome's Republic.
