The Land Mine of Lies

by Ari Bussel

What is a person who does not believe in "The Book," the Jewish Old Testament, to do? Jewish people claim God promised them the land of Israel for all eternity. Christians, by and large, support this claim. More recently, the League of Nations granted Jews their land in an official, legal act. Unlike the covenant with God, when drawn on paper, boundaries were changed at will using green, blue or red markers. Diverse interests and powerful influences resulted in splitting the land between a Jewish state and an Arab one. Palestinian Arabs (Muslims) were to get what is today Jordan, refused to recognize the Jewish state-in-formation, and now they want it all.

Decades have passed. Wars have ensued. The League of Nations became the United Nations, and political interests and spheres of influence grew ever stronger and continued to foster aspirations of dominance. Israel today, a tiny country surrounded by enemies acting to destroy it, also suffers attacks from within. Some Israelis erroneously believe if Judea and Samaria and half of their eternal capital Jerusalem were surrendered to the Muslims, peace will be achieved.

Those rushing to appease the ever-escalating Muslim appetite are mistaken. They are as wrong as those who lived in Berlin, the capital of the most cultured country in the world, just eight decades ago and felt immune, or in London and believed words alone or signed documents can bring about peace.

The power one understands in the Middle East is not the power of speech but of the sword. Today, the Islamic extremist version of "power" is broadcast live on the Internet, a new reality show where a Daniel Pearl is murdered and a decapitated head is held for all to see. His only sin? Being an American. Or possibly it was being a Jew. Who knows and can it really matter in the minds of irrational people where no sense exists? Yet the image is still fresh in our minds. Not of "words," but of the sword, a far more potent method of delivering their "message" of death. I am certain a dirty bomb, radioactive explosion or biological agents are likely alternative candidates for this type of "conversation."

Legal arguments do not hold any more. Reason no longer rules. Even ancient historical artifacts are uprooted, and despite the reverence usually reserved for antiquities, they are cast aside like a pile of rubbish. And yet, the perpetrators, our soon-to-be executioners, claim to follow the word of the same god as our God. Even if the issue claiming the moon god is not the Judeo-Christian God were reconciled, if one adheres to a belief in God, how can he proceed to separate Jews from their Promised Land?

Here we need to look at the Muslim modus operandi. A Thousand and One Arabian Nights is not only a literary masterpiece; it is a creative craft in which reality is imagined. Lie after lie and story after story are woven then repeated without contradiction. Outrageous untruths become so commonplace one is overwhelmed and a mistaken reality, based in fiction, emerges.

Palestinian ruling party resolutions are even more emboldened and outrageous: Israel is a racist state because it demands to be recognized as a Jewish state. Jerusalem must be liberated (August, 2009). Palestinian roots go back thousands of years and not the actual 30. Historical artifacts discovered in Israel from 2,000 years ago are part of Palestinian heritage and history. Olive trees and true craving for peace are symbols of the Palestinians. Millions of Palestinian refugees the world over have been driven away from their land. Gaza is under siege. Palestinians only want to work their land and live in peace.

These "manufactured" statements appear so quickly that by sheer volume and frequency alone they achieve the objective "" overwhelm the enemy and then act based on these newly created "propagandized truths."

The new trend is to claim Israel has no right to exist as a Jewish State. Saudi Arabia can be a Muslim country, the Islamic Republic of Iran can be Muslim, Indonesia, Malaysia and even Azerbaijan are more examples of Muslim countries. Italy is Catholic, but suddenly it is a racist notion that Israel be a Jewish homeland. Jews may be allowed to live and practice there, Palestinians proclaim, but that is the most that can or should be expected.

They are a clever enemy to be sure these "truth changers." Look for this new argument to soon be expanded to include the USA: Christians may be allowed to continue practicing, the Constitution may still be the cornerstone of our daily lives, but Sharia Law must be the common rule, above all else.

So how does one fight this new weapon in the Muslim propaganda arsenal? When no rational arguments work, when history, reason and legal evidence are dismissed, the only way left to overcome this nonsense is to defeat Islam at its core.

When you are next told God did not promise the land to the Israelites, that there is no connection between Jews and Israel, stand strong and respond to the lie. When you are next told that the "settlements" are the root cause of all evil, reply that indeed they must be strengthened and enlarged.

When anyone tells you Jews must be kept out of East Jerusalem answer simply there is no East and West Jerusalem, only one "" the eternal capital of the State of Israel, a united city, Jerusalem. Most importantly, when you are next invited to attend official State events in Tel Aviv, decline and remind the entity inviting you, most often the Israeli Government, Jerusalem is Israel's capital city, there is no other.

Get back to basics, know your history, see past the lies and look a few steps ahead. Understand the region and culture within which you live and guard against the hidden mines. Times are dangerous, be extra careful to avoid the certain traps ahead. We are all walking in a field where each step carries deadly potential. Tread softly and carefully: the next few years are sure to be more dangerous than ever before.
