Why the Grand Obstructionist Party is Sabotaging a Crackdown on Tax Evasion

There are multiple reasons why sabotaging a crackdown on tax evasion is consistent with the GOP dogma and their 2014 � ��" 2016 game plans; among them are:

- The GOP� �� s dogma for a progressively smaller government; therefore they view lower tax revenue regardless of cause as admirable.

- Virtually all GOP officeholders are signors of the Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) pledge. ATR believe that power of the government to tax should be minimized. The repeal of The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act or FATCA would take away what promises to be a highly effective enforcement mechanism; so its repeal ultimately minimizes the government power to tax.

- Fostering lax enforcement attracts campaign contributions, thereby enhancing the party� �� s funding; tax evaders can easily connect the dots as to which party deserves their campaign contributions.
