AP article says there are 200 diplomats in Iraq with a need of 50 more. Secretary Rice made first priority for assignment to be Iraq. Extra incentives have not filled the need, so some may be ordered to serve. Same happened in Viet Nam. Despite a vigorous organization of the Corps, it would be possible for diplomats to lose their jobs if they do not comply with assignments. |
