Tobacco-Deal Lawyer Indicted in Miss. - Richard Scruggs is alleged to have bribed a judge. A trial lawyer, whose history includes earlier tobacco litigation, he formed a firm to settle Katrina insurance claims with State Farm. Ultimately, the complaint comes down to which group of lawyers gets to keep huge fees.
