In complete contradiction to its policy of turning a blind eye towards Turkey's import of ISIL oil (via P.M. Erdogan's son, Milal), the U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions on Syrian entities, some with Russian bank connections, that allegedly imported ISIL oil into Syria. Syria is besieged with ISIL forces, who have carved out significant territory for their own caliphate-state.
