|Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair on Monday told a public inquiry that News Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch wielded 'substantial power' in Britain that had to be accounted for in devising a political strategy and running the government. Mr. Blair faced questions about events such as his attendance at a News Corp. conference in Australia in 1995 and mentioned his decision, some 15 years later, to become godfather to one of Mr. Murdoch's children.|
