During the BSE scare of 1995-7, grown men with medical degrees predicted doom... This science-based insanity was repeated during the Sars outbreak of 2003. The same lunacy occurred in 2006 with avian flu. Epidemiologists love the word 'could' because it can always assure them of a headline.
