Sightings of the Giant Asian Hornet (Vespa mandarinia) have been reported in the United States. Although some say these  sightings are that of a large wasp that feeds on cicadas, whether or not this invasive species has moved to America is uncertain. This horrible killer has been responsible for deaths in Japan, where it originated, as well as in China and France, where it has already spread. Vespa mandarinia workers grow to an adult size of nearly two inches, with queens topping out at three inches. When the Giant Asian Hornet stings, it causes human flesh to melt, much like the effect of having acid sprayed on a person's skin. There have been reports of swarms chasing victims hundreds of meters and stinging people hundreds of times in the chase. It's a natural born killer and climate change is making it comfy.
