In 1791, Haitian rebels performed a sacred ceremony at Bois Caiman to invoke their traditional African god to liberate them from the vileness of European slavers, oppressors, murderers and torturers who always used their cruel 'mask' of God to justify their crimes. Religion is often nothing more than a tool of oppression. Robertson knows that, so he waves it around like a spiked club to bludgeon Imperialism's victims with. |
