A classy, well-written reflection on why Americans still think they should only shed tears when certain others are targeted by terrorists.  Americans immediately resort to their highschool French when Paris is hit, but when it's Beirut or Syria, it's not because they don't know Arabic that they only acknowledge human suffering in passing:  it's because they still can't face the idea that American aggressions are behind much of the world's suffering today.
