| On Sept. 11th 1973, the neoliberals in Washington and the CIA helped stage a coup in Chile so they could test Milton Friedman's economic theories on a nation-state and neoliberalism ('savage capitalism') was born. They killed the elected president of the people of Chile for it. They installed a dictator for it. They created death squads for it. The hardships and misery they created would last for decades. |
