The White House will no longer hand 'blank checks' to Israel when Barack Obama takes office, a former US ambassador in Tel Aviv says. 'The era of the blank check is over,' said Martin Indyk, the former US envoy, who is considered as a close ally to the nominated state secretary, Hillary Clinton.
