| The budget crisis in Lansing is forcing severe cuts to public education. Gov. Jennifer Granholm is proposing a plan to cut about $125 per pupil from education spending across the state. Republicans, from partisan and ideological motives, are blocking efforts to raise new revenue to cover the shortfalls. |
