The same Judge Jed Rakoff who halted the SEC from selling immunity to Citigroup has weighed in on a Supreme Court decision which may have been informed by faulty information. Demanding secret emails, Rakoff found that John Roberts' ruling to deport dissidents awaiting appeal was based on the existence of a program to retrieve those immigrants who win their appeals, when no such policy seems to exist. Rakoff has requested correspondence that may clear up how Roberts ended up referencing a non-existent policy in a decision that could send refugees to face deadly retribution. |
