|Timothy Geithner, the president's nominee to be the Treasury secretary, appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday for his confirmation hearing, urging Congress to act quickly to deal with the economic crisis. He called for 'fundamental reform' of the government's $700 billion bailout package. But he was not expected to have a detailed plan ready.|
