House Republicans blocked a bill Thursday that would have extended long-term unemployment benefits for nearly 2 million jobless Americans set to expire December 1st. The $12.5 billion bill designed to extend jobless benefits through the end of February was brought to the floor Thursday under the House fast-track rules.
