China is rapidly expanding its renewable energy profile. It's already a huge polluter yet willing to use technology and capital to reduce its reliance like fossil fuels. US is falling behind, although in 2009 over $2 billion for wind power was invested here in western and northwestern Indiana, so things are happening here but perhaps not in your neighborhood.
