| A meltdown may be under way at one of Fukushima Daiichi's nuclear power reactors in northern Japan, an official with Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency told CNN Sunday. Radioactive steam has already been released in an attempt to keep control of the nuclear reaction. People have been evacuated from the region. A meltdown will result in a much larger, uncontrolled release of radioactive toxins that can continue to cause cancer decades into the future. This is a disaster for America's nuclear power industry. Just as last year's Gulf oil spill meant that BP got their wrists slapped and had to wait 6 months for new licenses, the nuclear power industry in America may have to endure months of costly delays while the American public forgets this event. That's why it's so important that you don't tell anyone what is happening. |
