|The Royal Dutch Shell Oil Company is once again pursuing its most risky and aggressive plans to drill in America's Arctic Ocean for the summer of 2013, despite a long list of mistakes and failures from its 2012 drilling program. We need to learn from these mistakes, and Shell's recent grounding of its drill rig on Sitkalidak Island is the last straw. I urge you to avoid a disaster by preventing Shell from drilling in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas this year.The future citizens will remember your presidency in ways that will make you a complicit villain, once the Arctic is ruined. They will know how the vast money from the oil plutocrats and corrupt kings influenced your decisions, and how you put placating the monied barons ahead of the health of our natural world.
