| Watching President Barak Obama sign the bill on Tuesday, I was struck with a rare feeling of investiture. I had seen the heart of America's new darkness and was heartened that the bullying had not deterred a legislative decision. To me, the signing ceremony was a sign the Republic was safe, at least for a while longer. |
