Why does the United States use torture?

Why do you think the United States has turned to the systematic use of torture in the "war on terrorism", in violation of the Geneva Convention?

Answer: Because torturing suspects yields:



evidence that can later be verified as to its veracity (as being either true or false).
evidence that can later be used as propaganda, regardless of its veracity.
a deterrent effect by inspiring fear throughout the terrorist community.
