What if

     President Obama politely but firmly detains the BP chairman in the White House as a necessary partner in the everyday work until the Gulf  disaster is stopped for good? What if he promises the US people  everyday press-conference of them both about the events in the Gulf?

That's a great idea. Pity Obama is a wuss.
Such action might work in this sitution but it must be explained very well.
The action must be done in such a way that BP chairman offers it himself.
That's illegal. No President can do such a thing. It is not useful either.
This might work under Patriot Act but it changes the rules of the whole game.
That's a joke.
