Should Harvesting Sperm Samples From The Dead to Produce Replacements be allowed?
Should the Mother of a 21 Year Old Dead Son Be Allowed to Harvest His Sperm to create a replacement child?
Missy Evans, mother of a son who was punched in the head , who then fell, hit his head and died about a week later, wants to harvest her son's sperm so she can produce a child many believe will replace her son. She says her son wanted three children and even had the names picked out for them. A judge has already given the go-ahead and it is reported that there will be good sperm samples available.
Should it be allowed for surviving relatives or others to harvest sperm samples to be used to create replacements?
A greiving mother, in this case, must quickly act and decide, while her son's corpse is kept in cold storage. But what about Elvis, or John Lennon, or Ronald Reagan or in terms of eggs, Brittany Spears, were she to die?
Should dead people's reproductive cells be harvesed so replacements could be created? I imagine a whole industry revolving around vintage sperm from famous people whose families or agents or managers try to squeeze the last assets out of the deceased.
In this case, a grieving mother seeks to replace her lost son, like some owners have their aging pets cloned.
Science makes it possible. Is it right?
