OpEdNews Poll: Failures of the Decade

Wanting to strike a positive note, I first thought of submitting a poll to determine what the great successes have been in this first decade of the millennium. However, I could not come up with much of a list for people to choose from. Perhaps someone else can be more successful at compiling a good list and we can all participate in a poll with a happier theme.

The question here is what failures of the current decade will history judge as the most serious and long-lasting.

Iraq and Afganistan: The failure to avoid war and the failure to quickly end occupation.
Disregard for law. The failure to respect our own traditions, constitution and laws.
Congress: Its failure to live up to its responsibilities under the Constitution.
Ecology: The failure to reduce our impact on the biosphere.
Energy: Our failure to adequately address the dwindling supplies of oil.
Economy: The failure to address growing income disparities and its consequences.
Corporations: The failure to reign in their excessive and growing power.
Election Reform- campaign finance, banning e-voting, etc.
None of the Above: I will describe the missing item in a comment.
