TUES, JAN 21: NATIONAL CALL TO END FAST TRACKING THE TPP AND FRACKING

Join Americans Against Fracking on a conference call to discuss how to stop a secret trade agreement that could jeopardize our efforts to ban fracking. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a terrible trade deal being negotiated by the governments of a dozen countries -- including ours -- and could effectively remove our ability to ban fracking anywhere in the United States by putting the rights of corporations above the rights of people and their communities.

WED, JAN 22: PLANNING MEETING FOR INTERCONTINENTAL DAY OF ACTION VS. TPP

At 6PM, we'll join Food and Water Watch for a potluck at 6PM. Then at 7PM, our friends at F&WW will provide us with a room where we can break off to plan for our 1/25 teachin and for our 1/31 action calling on Rep. Crowley to pledge to oppose Fast Tracking TPP! If you plan to come at 6 for the potluck, please bring food or a drink to share.

SAT, JAN 25: TEACH-IN: TPP: EXPANDING THE NEOLIBERAL ATTACK ON LATIN AMERICA & WHY CONGRESSMAN CROWLEY MUST VOTE AGAINST FAST TRACK!

Teach-in in Spanish with English interpretation w/ speakers on the impacts of free trade agreements on Mexico, Peru, and Colombia and information on actions we can take to stop the TPP! w/ Carlos Bernales (Peruvians in Action -- New York), Carlos Salamanca (Polo Democratico Alternativo), Malú Huacuja del Toro (Salinato Version 2.0), Jose Schiffino (Labor Coalition for Latin American Advancement) and Evan Greer (Fight for the Future -- not yet confirmed). Congressman Joe Crowley is one of only two New York State Democrats in the US House of Repressentatives who has not expressed opposition to Fast Tracking the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Join us to demand that Crowley get on the right track by refusing to sponsor and pledging to vote against Fast Track!
