"Voting legitimizes a system - it doesn't change it"
It is good for the mind and soul to fish stuff out of the mainstream current where important stuff often gets drowned out in the white noise of infotainment.
Here are my latest catches, along with my personal takings on why they were worth re-publishing....
Where did this one go? The many instances where this administration has "inserted" politics into processes supposedly about finding the truth - such as the Tillman case, the case of Valerie Plame, the Intelligence regarding WMD in Iraq, and so on and so forth - might be unprecedented in their number and indisrection, but surely we can't be so desensitized already that yet another instance should fade out of our awareness before we are even given a chance to learn about it.
9/11 led agencies to begin sharing intelligence and information, coordinate their actions and centralize their highest levels of command to avoid mess-ups and stand-downs.
Katrina led to a deconstruction of the barriers preventing the federal agencies from intervening in state emergencies to avoid the kind of delays and command chain confusions that led to many lives being lost that could have been saved.

It could all be motivated with the most benign reasons, and surely 9/11 and Katrina laid bare bureaucratic structural redundancies and inconveniencies that called for modernization and updating.
But when the streamlining and dismembering of walls between state and federal, domestic and foreign, military and law enforcement and between different agencies so that everything flows into everything and it more and more becomes the President's discretion that decides where the lines are - then we must ask ourselves: Do we trust the President, now and in the future, to be benign not to use these powers for the wrong purposes?
Companies seem to profit from decease - never health, from war and instability - never peace and stability.
I can not feel comfortable with putting efforts supposed to promote peace, health and stability into the hands of private companies that will profit more from perpetuating the opposite....
It is never too late to realize that the costs might not be worth it....Too bad people seem to react only when things get rough for them personally, which in the Western World usually happens only after people elsewhere have been paying a high price for our pleasure for decades.
"He who is in debt is not free". That was the maxim propagated by the Swedish Prime Minister which the US and UK worked together to get rid of because they feared he was too critical of the US methods of fighting communist expansion - in particular what US did in Vietnam.
I have lived by that maxim, and today I am grateful for not being in debt.

History of the Federal Reserve (Money Masters)
But have no fear...we will now make the Federal Reserve - the agency whose constitutionality has never been established to a high enough degree and the powers of which seem to be such that they were among those fought by the Founding Fathers of the USA - even more powerful...
