The risin waters in the midwest is a tragic story for some but one that is not a new one

::::::::

I feel bad for all of the people who have become homeless and displaced as well as injured and killed due the rising waters of the mississippi and the levee breaks. But this is not a new sort of problem. A tragic one, but not new. Ever since pioneers moved out west and made their homes along the river they have had to deal with the flooding. Each time a new bigger flood happened they would rebuild bigger and "better" damns and levees. all along the big river

and that is what they will do again. Rebuild... just like they are doing in New Orleans. I think that it is interesting though to see how the people and country are reacting. I haven't heard that this was a wrath of god like katrina wiping out a sinfull group of people from the fanatics. I wonder how those people who did say those things feel now, especially if they live in the flooded regions. And where will their help be where is their savior. Hopefully it will come swift and equally given to those who need it most.

I also hope that this tragic event is an eye opener for those still in disbelief that our leaders NOW are not planning ahead, and looking at the safety of the citizens of the USA. I'm sure that the midwesterners will get relief faster then those in New Orleans and that they will be fed false stories of how help is coming. Im sure GW will give a whole BS speech on "god". I bet even that people will forget about the stories of farmers saying how this destroyed their crops or animal feed and will wonder why prices are rising again even more.

What I really would like is that the country doesn't waste time and effort arguing over why it happened and who is to blame but moves on. I mean come on really, the earth is covered over 70% with water and we think we can tell it where to go. Build bigger an better and wait for the next test of human ingenuity. Move on. This one might be a bit cruel but if you build a house near a big river and don't get flood insurance your fooling yourself complaining that you are not getting enough money for your loss Everywhere there are issues for where you live, just cover your ass. If you can't afford to live in a way so you can or improve your situation don't be a cry baby, ACT. Maybe now we will get experts to head our national departments that know WTF they are doing and not looking for the next hand me down.

This was not a test from god, not a un natural disaster, not caused by a person (maybe the alqaeda did it)..jk..and the level of clean up has been paid for by the decisions of leaders we the people elected. What we do now to plan for a future event like this is what matters. Lets do as much as we can to help the suffering but remember it will only happen again, maybe we should learn to use the finite land on earth a bit more responsibly and carefully.

And for those who are really down, try writing a song about your feelings experiences and observations it helps me sometimes when things are tough.
