if the Republicans continue to use anti-gay bashing as a party platform they do a disservice to themselves (while admittedly causing us all a lot of pain); already some Republicans are questioning the Republican Party's traditional stance: the buzz goes something like this---if Republicans are anti-gay, then they should be up front about it and demand to know a candidate or member's sexual orientation before becoming affiliated with the Republican Party; gays would thus be banished from their Party; it may be the only reality possible for Republicans if they wish to persist in a narrow-minded policy orientation, however, uncomfortable or damaging and self-destructive such a policy would be
