Yes Virginia There are No Conspiracies

Message Grant Lawrence

Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th; malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists, themselves, away from the guilty.
- George W. Bush

O conspiracy, Sham’st thou to show thy dang’rous brow by night, When evils are most free?
- William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar (Brutus at II, i)

Conspiracy is a buzz word used by those that seek to shut down legitimate investigation. When we are accused of being a conspiracy theorist we are supposed to feel ashamed and foolish because we happen to think that evil events don't always happen by accident.

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus and there are no conspiracies. So if there are no conspiracies somebody ought to let government prosecutors know so they can quit prosecuting people on conspiracy charges. People by nature act as part of a group. In the same way wolves act in packs. It is well known in psychology that people will do things as part of a group that they would never do individually.

Do people act in secret? Yes.

Do people act in illegal and unethical ways? Yes.

Do people act as part of a group? Yes

Do people plan things as part of a group? Yes

So combine these and you have a conspiracy. Now we need to make the next big leap in reasoning. Would the power structure be the only group that is immune to acting in the ways described above? Of course not!

So now we know that people do act in secret, they act as part of a group, and they act in unethical and illegal ways, and they can and do plan things out. We also know that the power structure (you remember the ones that conspired to get us into Iraq to kill a million or so people) those wonderful people are not so much holier and better than other groups that conspire to do certain things.

In fact, to assume that the power structure doesn't conspire to do things, or engage in conspiracies, takes a bigger leap of faith than to believe Santa and his elves are working over time to make sure the toys are ready for every good girl and boy at Christmas.

But now that we know that it is reasonable to assume that there are conspiracies and that those in power do engage in them. Then we can open our minds enough to entertain information, conspiracy or not, that might lead us to some conclusion different than what has been presented to us by the government and mass media. It is, however, important that we are able to get accurate information and that might mean we have to be careful of various internet sites that are suspect.

So be careful to avoid believing the unbelievable and that is that there are no conspiracies.
