Last night, I went on Yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/election/2008/dashboard Political Dashboard to check the latest polls. I was astonished to find what looked to be early election results, showing McCain leading Obama aproximately 18 million votes to 17 million. The states were individually tallied as well, with "precincts reporting" ranging from 25% to 100%. Strangely, Obama was trailing in California by 5% but winning in Arizona! He was only ahead by 1-2% in "safe" states like New York, Delaware etc. and being trounced in Florida. I wish I could send you a screen shot, but when I reloaded the page it went back to the RCP averages and that's all I've seen since.
Was Yahoo displaying early voting results (are these even available?) or just testing the system, or was it just a mistake?
