Once again, Hillary Clinton has crossed over the line in her petty attacks against Barack Obama. In Thursday's Democratic debate, her "change you can xerox" line drew boos from the audience. Obama was clearly angry, but chose to deal with substance in his subsequent answers. It's ironic that she delivered that line, in the same debate that she borrowed at least two lines that John Edwards had used: "This is personal for me," and "We'll be fine." This "plagiarism" charge is a non-issue, and Clinton's persistence in using it shows just how little she has on Obama.
(Incidentally, a guest on Dan Abrams' show after the debate characterized Obama as saying that he was only "caught" twice borrowing the lines. In fact, he said it was only two lines, over the last few weeks. The analyst argued that he had used the lines more than twice, and therefore was being dishonest.)
