Having been soundly defeated in the election one would surmise that Obama's offer to govern from the middle would come as a welcome relief to Republicans conservatives who must otherwise feel left out in the cold of the far right. Also, given how far to the right the Republican Party has been taken under the neoconservative coercion that literally forced them into lock-step loyalty, one would think they would jump at the chance to come back towards the middle and towards more traditional American values. However, listening to the right wing talking heads and interviews with conservatives it appears nothing could be further from the truth. The usually coterie of extreme conservative mouthpieces appears to be rallying around rebuilding a Republican Party that is even farther to the right (if that is possible) than the past eight years of ideological fascism practiced by our now lame duck administration. With Republicans taking this kind of direction will Obama find any that will joion him in the middle?
