I think Fitzpatrick realizes an indictment of Rove is a waste of time on the issue concerning exposing Joe Wilsons wife as a CIA agent. We all know the truth concerning why Wilsons wife was exposed. Bush, Cheney and Rove wanted to discredit him in concern to intelligence about the reasons leading up to and making the case for War on Iraq.We know Wilson was right that Iraq had no WMD.
Whatever damage caused by his wifes exposure sure can not be any worse than the lie that Bush and the neocons pursued, causing thousands to die in an unnecessary war. With the murder of innocent civilians, Abu Grahab, Gitmo, and Falluja, how can the case about outing a CIA agent gain any positive outcome?
The real legal pursuit is impeachment of Bush, and the stopping of the occupation of Iraq. Rove has not gotten away with anything. He is not free from the crimes committed by this administration.
In fact it is likely numerous counts against this administration make the outing charge valid and legitimate. Who needs to go down that road when we already know the facts? Rove can not escape.
