HR 1955 and S 1995The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism
Prevention Act of 2007
by Henry B Stevens, citizen
Henry says this bill is a full frontal violent attack on free speech in the United States.
It is a an explosive device because the wording can lead to many interpretations, such as,
"and other purposes." This can be a machine gun spraying deadly rounds in every direction.
This bomb of a law was carefully planted to go off under set up circumstances. The rules
were suspended, there was a one hour presentation by the company who would benefit richly
from this legislation, and both political parties voted in favor, with only six nay votes.
Remember, lobbyists are equal opportunity donors and can infiltrate across party lines at
will.
I have been searching both NY Times and Washington Post every day for HR 1955 and have come
up with nothing found on both papers. No news items, no commentary, and no letters to the
editor. At first I was puzzled but now I am angry. Both these papers are blacking out these
reports. The blogs are alive with active reports every day on the developments around HR
1955 and now the Senate version, SR 1959.
So here we have the very thing that couldn't happen in America-the Main Stream Media
blacking out an important story-and the Blogs providing excellent coverage. Of course, HR
1955 specifically targets the Internet as a venue for terrorist thought and the suppression
of terrorist thought. The internet has been killing the Main Stream Media for years so that
explains their blackout, to my mind.
Everyone interested in keeping freedom of speech should be up in arms and planning a way to
fight back and defeat this attack on our basic rights and freedoms. We have to start now
and move quickly.
