There are not supposed to be too many heroes. But hopefully, we each have at least a few. Who are yours?

::::::::

Who among the people in this world who are still alive are your heroes?

I've been asking this question of people for years. There are some common replies-- parents, siblings, aunts or uncles.

Who are your heroes? And why is that person a hero to you?

One of the reasons I'm asking this question is  to see who, among the living, are most commonly thought of as heroes. So please, if someone else has listed someone on your personal list, do add a comment and list that personal hero again.

I'll also add, in a very un-PC way, that I don NOT believe that peole who accept big bonuses to go or stay in Iraq are heroes. It takes more.
