It is often hard as we grow in our awareness, to stop and really look at the world. There is so much pain and lack. So much needless suffering.

It can seem bleak, as the people that have the power to really do anything about anything seem content to wield that power not for the betterment of all, but for themselves.

Our religions do little to comfort us it seems. Where is the mercy of god?

Religious leaders everywhere condone and support the perpetrators and the machine of war.

One need only see the broken tears of a mother whose child has died for nothing in a needless war to scream, why? Why? Who is responsible for this?

The answer to that question is, I am.

Yes, I am responsible. Pain and suffering and lack are woven deeply into the fabric of my perceptions of life, and so when I look around, they are everywhere.

You might ask, who are you? Who are you to wield such mighty power over the world you live in?

The study of metaphysics has taught me that I am responsible for the events of my life. I know this to be true. My study of relationships has taught me that when two people get together a third entity is created, Us. And the path to joy in an intimate relationship involves two people accepting together 100% responsibility for the joint creation of their life, together.

But if I am sitting on a bus on the way to a football game, am I not co-creating the experience of riding on that bus with the stranger I have never met sitting next to me? It seems that I am.

And when we get there and enter the stadium, I am sharing the experience of the football game with 70,000 other people I have never met.

The stadium sits in a large city, and so I am also co-creating the experience of living in that city with 2 million other people I have never met.

That city exists in a nation of over 300 million people, with whom I am unquestionably co-creating the experience of living in my country.

And my country is part of this entire world, revealing to us then the great truth that all of the spiritual masters who have ever walked the earth agree on.

Truly, we are all one.

And so, when you feel the suffering and the pain and the lack of your own life and your soul cries out to the universe, Who Is Responsible, you know the answer, don't you?

I am.

Former apathetic anarchist who's directly responsible for the sorry state of affairs in our great country, by virtue of doing nothing. Until now. Screenwriter, author, poet and poker player.
