I've been listening to the Presidential debates on CNN international here from Tehran . The candidates are debating welfare issues , abortion issues and interestingly the foreign factor which so central to the case is absent. I dont know about the news reports inside the US , but here in Iran we have a constant flow of reports on the ongoing human tragedy in Gaza. The American government is the major supporter of Israel , the perpetuator of these crimes. Israel would not have dared to kill 40 people mostly civilians during the past weeks without the tacit support of the US. Where is the world heading?
Are Americans obssessed with the Academy Awards or with the presidential race or the fallling stock exchange rates? We have seen many reports about people resisting the terrible economic, health and security conditions in Gaza.
Have you seen the fierce rioting of scores of women protesting to the closure of the borders? They are wearing the hijab, and valiantly protesting in face of fully armed Israeli soldiers. Why are they suffering ? Why are we indifferent ?
