When are We going to Cut Military Spending

Military spending and spending on massive policing of Americans is an area that we can cut down.

As our country lurches toward insolvency with massive debt, why don't we consider some government spending cuts? I am not talking about spending cuts for social welfare. I am talking about deep cuts to the oversized military that we have. We have over 700 bases all over the world, and we outspend the entire world on a defense budget.  The US is losing massive amounts of money on wasteful, useless wars, and on defending an empire built up after World War II. The war machine needs to be retooled to make something other than bombs.

The other area that probably needs big cuts are the policing agencies. We have the CIA, the NSA, Homeland Security, the FBI, and probably more than that. How wasteful is it to have massive amounts of policing? Extremely. Cut the policing of the American people down to a minimum and make it lean and mean.

 

 

 

I enjoy writing about political/ economic events, and I am especially concerned about the US as a warlike nation. I would like to see this nation turn itself around from a conquering nation in both commerce and war to a nation of peace. I hope that (more...)
