These inspiring words are taken from Lesson 257 of the Workbook for Students section of the book "A Course in Miracles". What is YOUR major (mal)function? [The previous sentence is not a quote from the book - that's just something some kid in our neighborhood used to always say whenever he walked up to a crowd of people.] All too often, we lose sight of what we set out to accomplish with our lives in the first place and we get too distracted with all the bullshit in life and get caught up doing things that will not bring us any closer to our real goals.

::::::::

Let me remember what my purpose is.

No one can serve contradicting goals and serve them well. Nor can he function without deep distress and great depression. Let us therefore be determined to remember what we want today, that we may unify our thoughts and actions meaningfully, and achieve only what God would have us do this day.

 Let us not forget today that we can have no will but Yours. Thus our purpose must be Yours as well, if we would reach the peace You will for us. [Lesson 257.]

Aka "Peace Brother", I am a health professional and writer interested in promoting global peace and justice.
