What Would You Do *TO* Jesus?

"If these people believe in God, they must have heard that God Loves Everyone, and he loves them equally. So why would these people ask God to do something that goes against his own teaching? Maybe they ought to check with that Jesus fella. They're always talking about 'What would Jesus do'?

They don't want to know so they can do it, they just want to know so they can tell other people to do it."

-George Carlin

Let's say someone walks up to you... now let's say that someone says to you, "I'm Jesus Christ."  First, you're going to think this person is a Wing Nut.  Then you're going to think he's a religious fundamentalist.  Then you are not going to want to talk to him.  You will walk away from him... or, her.  Muttering something sarcastic, no doubt.  Most of us would.  We're too jaded.  We're too emotionally scarred from the Fanatics and all that comes with them and their Fanaticism.  We've been given our standing-eight-count and are still dizzy from the right hook.  And on top of that, the smelling salts are not working.

What if I were to say to you that I was Jesus Christ?  Hey, I do have the beard and the long hair.  I stand up for poor people and fight the establishment and government behind that (business) establishment for those poor folks.  Relax... quit shouting epithets at your computer screen.  I am not saying I am Jesus Christ.  I could be, though, and you would have no clue, you would not believe it.  I'm not asking you to believe it.

You've been conditioned to believe that anyone spouting that stuff is insane or is trying to sell you something, the price being your soul, of course.  How are people who don't know what they are doing on this planet going to advise me about what is going to happen in the next realm?  The blind leading the blind.  Fools pointing at the Master's finger, instead of where He is pointing.  The Fearful, leading the other Fearful, over the cliff, all of them willfully ignorant, out of that Fear.  Oh beautiful irony, once again.

But how would you know?  If someone like me walked up to you today, tomorrow, whenever, and said they were the "son of God," you would not know if this person was legitimate or not.  Now, taking into account that there are those of other faiths who do not believe in this Jesus character.  The Atheists will simply laugh.  The Nihilists say and do nothing, at all.  The "Christians" scoff and call you a "heretic!"  The Catholics... they're taking their standing-eight-count right now.  Buddhists smile and walk on.  They may throw a "bless you" in there every once in a while.  Aside from those folks, if you have some sort of belief system that is even close to Christianity, don't you have to wonder who you are speaking to?

Hey, this is your fairy tale, not mine.

Once, a few years back, when I was in the Rat Race, I yelled at this guy.  I was living in my car in Orange County (Westminster) and worked at the local Labor Ready.  Or, "Slaves R Ready," as we called it.  But I digress.  This homeless guy, he comes walking up to me, while I am fueling up my Geo Metro (Yeah, I was a Bad Ass!) asks me for change.  And he asked me politely, too.  What did I do?  I tore him a new one.  I explained to him that I was "trying!" and he was "not trying!"  The poor guy walked away and sat back down on the bus bench.  He waved the driver on, she stopped anyway... other passengers wanted off.  Assumptions.

How do I know he wasn't Jesus Christ?  Or worse... God Her/Himself?  What?  I think we may have a Hermaphrodite Deity!  THINK ABOUT IT.  Another digression: the Creator.  Coming back, to see who is who and what is what.  Putting it all in order.  Putting it all into context.  Who will get through and who won't.  Who will have "everlasting life (The wording of which never made sense since you are not 'living' at this point.) in heaven," or, "everlasting torment in hell."  I don't believe in all that, though.  I believe "heaven" and "hell" is within all of us.  I believe we have the ability to access either one of them at any time during the day or throughout our existence.  We choose heaven or hell.  But that is another argument, isn't it?

Besides, Jesus Christ is most likely in Guantanamo.  Think about it: he's preaching peace, love and understanding in a world of violence, hate, and misunderstanding... and greed and vice and perpetual Lying.  We're all merely children in big clothing.  We're Tom Hanks, only it's not cute anymore.  It's not working.  But let's keep right on doing it.  Performing the same actions over and over (throughout centuries) expecting a different result is... what, again?
