In our society we have been told that drug usage and sex are the two most evil things one can get involved in. Presently Michael Phelps is really going to pay the price, even jail time, for a picture showing him smoking marijuana. We have seen politicians, even a president, pay the price for sex.
The corporate media propagandists actually seem to enjoy being able to report activities in those two areas, but not in all cases. For example, they completely went silent when it was brought to their attention George W. Bush was an avid coccaine and marijuana user. They were silent when it was mentioned Laura Bush sold marijuana when she was in college. They were silent when it was brought out that Bush had an illegitimate child and was even further “deep sixed” when the woman supposedly committed suicide (we seem to have had a great number of “suicides” and “accidental” deaths in the Bush/Cheney/Rove past, but none seem to be noteworthy). Of course there was no mention of Bush's DUIs nor his 3 arrests, and of course to mention the fact he was a deserter, during his years of coccaine addiction, from the National Guard actually got a veteran commentator fired!
But let a Michael Phelps use marijuana and we will hear about it until they lock him up.
Once again hats off to the corporate media propagandists for telling us what is really important.
