Since there are "holy wars" being fought over what or who God is, and how prophecy will be fulfilled, this is a very crucial subject.

::::::::

The religious conflicts in the world will not be resolved without the words of one who truly serves the Spirit of truth, called son of man in both Judaic prophecy and Christian prophecy, and other names in prophecies of other religions.

I believe that son of man is here, but he is not Jesus. He is one in a long line of those called son of man. That term was used in Judaic scriptures in the Torah and Tanach referring to prophets, certain kings, and other key witnesses and servants of God. There were many who were called son of man, and Jesus was one of them. He himself said so.

But, as you know, many Christians have been led to believe that Jesus was not a son of man, but was conceived by magic in the womb of a virgin, and was therefore "the only begotten son of God," and even "God incarnate," who will "come again."

Most Christian believe in the fourth century Nicene Creed, which makes that claim. But that claim is problematic, for many reasons. For example, the virgin birth claim is based on an inaccurate reference to Isaiah 7:14. It is actually about a dispute over land and leadership that took place during the time Isaiah wrote about it, and had nothing to do with Jesus. In fact, the book of Isaiah says that while the "Immanuel" was still a child, the Assyrians would conquer the lands of Aram and Israel, which they did in 733-732 B.C., only a year or two after the prophecy was given and 733 years before Jesus was even born. Furthermore, Isaiah 7:14, which the author or revisionists of the book of Matthew used to claim Jesus was born of a "virgin" to fulfill Isaiah's prophecy, does not even speak of a virgin. The Hebrew word "almah" in the book of Isaiah was erroneously translated as "virgin" and actually means "young woman." And, while the Hebrew word that actually does mean "virgin" ("bethulah") appears four times in Isaiah 23:12, 37:22, 47:1, 62:5, the author was well aware of the word for virgin and yet purposely did not use it in Isaiah 7:14.

Unfortunately, some Christians believe in the branch of theology known as Apologetics, which is concerned with a defense of Christianity and attempts to prove that everything in the New Testament of the Christian Bible is literally true.

Why do Apologists feel that the New Testament needs defending? Because the majority of people in the world, including many Christians, do not find certain claims made in the New Testament accurate, or credible. We still don't, even after all the centuries of Christian Apologist evangelism and recruitment and we don't believe it for very good and valid reasons.

The problem is an erroneous, man-made doctrine of preeminence and superiority that was established as the official canon of the Roman Catholic Church during the fourth century. The Roman Emperor Constantine was originally responsible for it, but the Roman Emperor Theodosius (the last emperor ruling both the Eastern and Western Roman Empire) was the one who really pushed for the Nicene Creed, which had been authorized during the First Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. And Theodosius succeeded in making the creed official throughout the whole Roman Empire.

Theodosius pushed the Nicene Creed because it supposedly "settled" a raging conflict about whether Jesus was "God Incarnate" or not. And, since the creed declares that he was, it suited the Roman Warlord Emperor very well, just as it suited many other emperors and imperialist kings and heads of state during the sixteen centuries since then, because it even survived the Protestant Reformation and has been perpetuated.

Anyway, I bring the Roman Emperor Theodosius up because his actions were even more damaging than Constantine's were. Why? Because after the Council of Laodicea in 364 A.D., Emperor Theodosius decreed that all "pagan" temples were to be destroyed, and that possession of any literature that was not "approved by the Church" was a criminal offense. Consequently, book burning started, and in 391 A.D. at the Great Library of Alexandria about 400,000 scrolls went up in flames. (And that, by the way, is why the Judeo-Christian Essenes hid their scrolls in large jars in caves, as was discovered many centuries later.)

During the Council of Laodicea, council members decided which of the many Christian gospels (or which copied and translated versions of them) were to be accepted as official church canon and scriptures to be included in the Christian Bible, and which were not.

That's when the first "Christian" Theocracy was established, even though it was the opposite of true Christianity. That is why it led to what is called the Dark Ages, then the cruel Inquisition, and then the bloody Crusades to take Jerusalem. Christianity had become antithetical to what Jesus had intended, as he had foreseen. That is, hypocrites who claimed to do many wonderful works in the name of the Lord were actually evildoers who worked iniquity, even as many still do today.

The reason is that even though the "New Testament" as we know it does still contain much truth, it also contains some fabricated ideas that are not compatible with the Judaic Torah and Tanach, or with what Jesus actually said, or with the universal truths common to most other religions.

Whether those fabrications were originated by the original authors of the gospels when they were written between the third and ninth decade following the death of Jesus, or by later copiers or translators, it is not difficult to see how and why they exaggerated and embellished the story of Jesus to elevate him as "God and Savior," even though he was actually a mashiach, a son of man and servant of God who was blessed with the highest state of consciousness and realized his oneness with God and humanity, as we all can.

No son of man has ever been or ever will be God. As Moses wrote, God is "not a man, nor a son of man." Isaiah wrote that God's "servants and witnesses" serve and act for God on earth, and "besides God there is no Savior." In other words, only God, the Holy One is Savior. God's chosen ones are called prophet, or son of man, Mashiach, or Messiah, which is not the same as God and Savior.

That's why Jesus said to his disciples that they had not heard God's voice or seen God's shape at any time(John 5:37). It's why Jesus said that God "is greater than I." (John 14:28) And it is why Jesus said: "Why call me good? There is but One who is good, and that is God." (Matthew 19:17, Mark 10:18, Luke 18:19) He also said that the servant is not greater than his Master; that of himself he did nothing, but the will of the One who sent him. And the modern son of man says the same thing.

Jesus was indeed a good shepherd, a son of man, an enlightened christus anointed with the Holy Spirit, and the Avatar for the passing age. He was a lord, and a host, but he was not the Lord of hosts, not Lord of lords, not God, because God is the infinite, eternal, omnipresent One. And even though in the Judeo-Christian traditions, God is called "Him" and "Father," that was for lack of a term that is within the human frame of reference, and there are more accurate references stating that "God is Light," that "God lives in Light," and that we are "Children of Light."

That is why the modern son of man clarifies that God is the Divine Light-Energy-Source of our existence, the Supreme Universal Consciousness, the Essence of all life and form, and the primordial, unspeakable "Word" that was in the beginning, and is made flesh in all of us.

Who is the modern son of man? Fulfilling prophecies, he is one of us. He is from our midst and of our brethren. He has first been stricken and afflicted, and suffered many things, but he has overcome and delivered his work before him, only to have it rejected by his generation. He does not speak of himself as the Christ (or Buddha or Avatar or Mahdi), but explains how and why he serves the Ancient One, the original Oversoul who is in heaven with God, just as Jesus and all the greatest spiritual teachers throughout history did.

His pen name is Joseph J. Adamson (the J. is for James), but his singer-songwriter's name is David, withhis last name being the modern way of sayingSon of Nun. (In scriptures, Nun was the minister to Moses and the father of Joshua. In Hebrew, Nun is the 13th letter of the alphabet, symbolized by the fish. It also means fish in Aramaic, Phoenician and Arabic. And, in mythology, Nun is the ethereal waters or ocean from which all life has come.) And he sings new songs to fulfill prophecies.

His five books published between 2002 and 2006 contain the early message, and a web site, first published in 2002 and updated and expanded continuouslyuntil recently, summarize the message. It is titled What IS the World Coming To? Seriously. On that site you will find 49 tabbed page/articles that cover all the major issues of the day. (This article paraphrases and quotes his work.)

As Jesus prophesied, the modern son of man expresses the Spirit of truth, which issues judgment, guides us unto truth, shows us things to come, and glorifies Jesus for what he was, a son of man who realized God, and the sacrificial lamb of God who martyred himself as an "offering" for sin and to culminate his teachings regarding universal love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, and pacifism.

Joseph-David tells us that the seven angels associated with the seven last plagues are close to victory over the "beast and its image," and long to sing the song of God's servant Moses, the song of the sacrificial lamb Jesus, and the song of the bridegroom lamb, the modern son of man, who like Jesus praises God with the following words:

"Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord God, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are Holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."

Joseph-David explains, however, as Jesus did, that the act of worshiping God does not have to be performed at any certain alter, temple, church, ashram, mosque, or any other certain place. You may do so, of course. But, worship and prayer can be performed even in your closet, where you may pray in secret to our God who hears in secret, as Jesus said, because as Thomas Jefferson rightly said, religion is a matter which lies solely between man and God, and we owe account to none other for our faith or our worship.

Of course, there are certainly times and places to worship in congregation. And houses of worship should also be places where people gather together to celebrate in special ceremonies, and to comfort each other in grief. They should also be places for education, counseling, charitable activities, and so on. And their purpose should be humanitarian in every respect, with the goal of bringing comfort, peace and harmony to the world.

Over the last eight years, Joseph-David has learned to address all the questions, concerns, criticisms and rebuttals that have arisen in response to the message. Whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Deist, Unitarian Universalist, Agnostic, Atheist, or member of any other religious, spiritual or secular grouping, the message applies to and addresses you.

May you recognize the truth if and when you read it. I did, and I have done my best to paraphrase and quote the words of the son of man.

Some time ago I read some of the writings of Karen Armstrong, an ex-Nun and a member of the progressive Jesus Seminar. She wrote the best-selling books, The History of God, and The Battle for God, and she makes a lot of sense to me. Then I became a (more...)
